Anger Reflex

Wounded animals and human beings react with anger since the beginningless times.

That is because of the reflex from the brain center called the Amydala located in the mid-brain.

This is what Buddhism call adding suffering to suffering.

Life already is suffering.
To add anger on to life is adding suffering to suffering.

Buddhists
who practice meditation
show the development and growth
of the left pre-frontal cortex, which can intervene before the Amydala can respond.

The response time from Amydala after the being suffers a wound is 1/4 of a second.

During that period of time the pre-frontal lobe has to intervene and tell the brain to stay calm and not add more suffering to the original inherent suffering of life.

That's how the anger reflex is overcome
